Are We Not Men?

Greetings to all mutants and spuds,
I have a message from five suburban robots. They have sent me a transmission from their native country of the US, outlining an upcoming journey to Oz. They are following the commands of their genetic codes and they are coming here to entertain corporate life forms. They will spread the word of de-evolution. They are called DEVO and their message is simple, “Opposites and rebellion are obsolete. The fittest shall survive, but the unfit shall live. It’s all the same”.

Smart Patrol

Up until recently, it wasn’t cool to be a DEVO fan. To be a DEVO fan was like being an outcast. Mutants would give me the same old giggles and say stuff like, “DEVO? Aren’t they a joke band?”& “Yeah, the dudes with the flower pots on their heads.” This is the kind of prejudice fellow Spuds like myself have had to endure all these years. But I would never lose my cool – instead I would play the mutants, several songs from my DEVO albums and cd’s. I would prove to them that DEVO can kick ass!
Let me set the record straight to all the non-believing mutants out there without using profanities. DEVO are not a joke band – they are one of the most original & inventive bands of all time. The only problem with DEVO was that they were too far ahead of their own time.

Not thru being cool

Most of you think DEVO disappeared in the early 80’s, but just because they weren’t in the charts, doesn’t mean they weren’t still around. They have been writing, producing and performing since their last top ten hit in 1981. In fact, they have released another 15 cd’s bringing the total to about 20.

Whipping up a frenzy!

The upcoming tour of Oz will be their third, having been here in ’82 and then ’97. To those fortunate enough to be going this time around, congatulations. You will be treated to something totally amazing, totally unique and totally DEVO. For those of you who are still unfamiliar with DEVO music, do yourself a favour and go to your local music store and go DEVO.
